GRAFF Products Honored with Architectural Products Magazine's Product Innovation Award

GRAFF® announced today that they are the recipients of the 2013 Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural Products magazine. GRAFF’s Ametis Shower System and SENTO Faucet were awarded the PIA Award in the restroom products/plumbing equipment category. Winners were selected from almost 400 entries and judged by a group of 50 independent industry professionals which included architects, interior designers and architecture, engineering and construction industry writers. The Ametis and SENTO can be seen among the winners in the November issue of Architectural Products.

“We are honored to be a recipient of this prestigious award judged by esteemed industry experts who know the plumbing industry inside and out,” said Ziggy Kulig, president and CEO of GRAFF. “Architectural Products is the go-to-magazine for the design community. Accepting the PIA Award for the Ametis Shower System on behalf of our company and designer Davide Oppizzi inspires us to push the boundaries of design even further and to continue creating high-quality products that will ultimately strengthen and expand our customer base.”

The Ametis Shower System has been described by its designer Davide Oppizzi as being a symbol of the fusion between the universe above and the oceans below. The shower column includes an integrated chromatherapy system with RGB LED lighting within the ring, which provides colorful choices for additional indirect lighting and gives a completely new dimension to the shower experience. A striking 63 inches tall, and constructed using a curved steel bar, Ametis stands head and shoulders above other showers. Ametis is available in chrome, architectural black and architectural white finishes and the showerhead is equipped with 4 RGB colors: white, red, green and blue. There are four spray options: rain, waterfall, body sprayer option, and outlet for matching hand-shower.

SENTO, which means "I feel" in Italian, stays true to its namesake with its minimal yet sensual design. The design team of Angeletti Ruzza set out to create a faucet unencumbered by decorative elements or extraneous details. "Lightness and strength," maintain the designers, were the inspiring principles of the SENTO series. Out of these design principles, SENTO was born. From the lavatory single lever mixer to the widespread faucet, SENTO's personality is defined by effectiveness of function and clean, simple lines resulting in its strong visual appeal. The SENTO is available in polished chrome, satin nickel, polished nickel, olive bronze, architectural black and architectural white.

In regards to the PIA entry submissions for 2013, Jim Crockett, editorial director of Architectural Products Magazine said, “Building on the success of last year’s program, our third edition of the awards proves commercial building manufacturers are committed to, and are working arduously toward, delivering more sustainable products, as well as products that deliver better performance, life and affordability.”
